Part I

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. O Allah! I have intended to invoke blessings on the Prophet ( May thy blessings and peace rest on him), in compliance with Thine order, and as a token of respect and reverence for Muhammad,  Thy Prophet  and our master; accept it from me by Thy grace and  kindness;  remove the veil of negligence from my heart, and make me one of Thy righteous bondmen.

2. O Allah! Shower Thy blessings on Muhammad, our master, on his progeny and his companions, in the number which is in Thy knowledge -such blessings as may continue for ever, eternal as Thy Kingdom and vouchsafe peace to them all.

3. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, out of regard for whom Thou didst say: "Verily Allah and His Angels shower blessings on the Prophet (Muhammad): O ye who believe! Invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.'' (Quran. Surah 33: Ayah / Verse 56)

4. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, for whom his forefather Abraham prayed to Thee and said; ''Our Lord! Raise up in their midst from among them an Apostle who shall recite to them Thy revelations and instruct them in the Book and in Wisdom (purpose underlying it) and shall sanctify (reform) them, for Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, the Wise." (Q. 2:129)

5. O Allah!  May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, of whom Thou didst receive a Covenant from the Order of Prophets and say:  "O Muhammad! Remind (them of) the time when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, (on the Primal Day) saying : "I give you a Book and Wisdom; and afterwards there will come to you an Apostle (Muhammad) confirming what is with you; ye shall surely believe in him and ye shall help him (by instructing your followers also). (Allah) said: ''Do ye agree: and take this my Covenant as binding on you?” They answered: 'We agree'. He (Allah) said: 'Then bear ye witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."

(Q. 3:81)

6. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, of whose advent Jesus Christ gave the glad tidings (to his people) and said: ''O Children of Israel! Verily, I am the Apostle of Allah (sent) unto you to confirm the Law of Torah delivered before me, and also to give Glad Tidings of an Apostle who comes after me bearing the name of Ahmed (Highly Praised)." (Q. 61:7)

7. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, through whom Thou didst confer Blessing on his following and say: ''Certainly Allah conferred a (great) Blessing upon the Believers when He raised among them an Apostle (Muhammad) from among themselves, reciting to them His Communications,  purifying  them,  and   teaching   them the Book and the Wisdom (objective) while before (that) they were in manifest   error."

(Q. 3:164)

8. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master to whom Thou didst say: "Verily, We have inspired in thee our Word as We inspired in Noah and the Messengers after him." (Q. 4:163)

9. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst reveal: "Read in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, who hath created (His creatures) - created Man, out of a (mere) clot of blood Announce!

11. O Allah!  May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst reveal: ''Blessed be He, Who hath revealed to His Servant (Muhammad) the Criterion (of right and wrong, i.e., Quran) that he may be a warner to all mankind.  His is   the Sovereignty over the heaven and the earth. No son hath He begotten or adopted, nor hath He a partner in His Sovereignty. He hath created everything and invested it with what is appropriate to it in due measure." (Q. 25:1-2)

(Q. 14:1-2)

14. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst say: "Ta-Ha!  We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Quran to cause thee any distress. Most Gracious (Allah) is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority)".

(Q. 20:1-5)

15. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst say: "And We have not revealed this Book to thee save that thou mayst clear up to them what they wrangled about, and that it may serve as a Guidance and a Mercy for those who believe." (Q. 16:64)

16. O Allah!   May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst say: "Verily, in right form have We revealed the Book unto thee, so worship Allah alone offering Him sincere devotion."

(Q. 39:2)

17. O Allah!  May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, to whom Thou didst say:  "And remember the Day when We will call from every peoples one (Prophet) from among themselves, to bear witness (to what  they had wrought in their life), and We will cite thee (O Muhammad ) a witness against these (who are now opposing thy mission); for We have sent down to thee the Book which cleareth every thing - a guidance, a mercy and glad tidings for those who resign themselves to Allah." As to one who regards himself self-sufficient, thou art all attention; although no blame could attach thee if he did not choose to purify himself.  But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly (for Faith) and with fear (of Allah in his heart), thou wast unmindful of him. By no means (should it be so) - for it (Quran) is indeed a Message of instruction. So, let any one who cares to, be mindful of it." (Q.80:1-12)

Truly rising up by night tends to suppress (the carnal desires) and helps a free flow of devotional utterance.  Verily, thou hast by day a long chain of business.

41. O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest on Muhammad, our master, whom Thou didst order: "(O Muhammad) observe Prayers between the sun's decline and the darkness of the night, and recite the Quran at day break, for the recital of the Quran at dawn carries its testimony (presence of mind). And pray after midnight, and it (Tahajjud) would be an additional Prayer for thee. Soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory." (Q. 17:78-79)
